Good service. Food was just okay and is overpriced, but that's Disney. It's open pretty much only for dinner. It isn't truly a Southwestern menu, as the food doesn't come smothered in red or green chile sauce, but the portions are big and filling. I got the Tres Amigos platter with three different types of enchiladas. Also comes with rice, beans, and a cornbread muffin. Overall three. I liked that at the end of our meal, the manager came out to introduce himself and ask us how our meal and stay were. Bump up to four stars.

Slow service. Mediocre food. Overstaffed so not sure why service is show and food is like taco bell.

What a surprise to find this place! My daughter and I were in the mood for Mexican food but didn't have a park admission to visit our favorite spot in the EPCOT Mexican temple. We found this option on the Disney Dining site, booked a reservation for 30 minutes later and were off. We arrived right on time and realized we had stayed here at Coronado Springs once before but many years ago. We were promptly seated at a wonderful booth tucked in the back by a window. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and makes you think for a moment you could be back in Peru. Bonus! To add to the ambience, there was live music played. Their guitarist was excellent and I found myself tapping along to the beats several times during our meal. For drinks they have a selection of tequila, several margarita options and numerous beers all bottled though. I got my usual Dos Equis and ordered their house guacamole as a starter. The guac showed up a few minutes later with a plate full of warm, fresh chips. The guac was topped with several thin rings of beet to add to the flavors. In no time the guac was gone but many chips remained. We asked our server for some salsa but learned it is not on their menu!? He offered to run next door though to the quick serve restaurant and bring some back for us. What service! For my main entree, I selected their shrimp tacos while my daughter picked their steak fajitas. The tacos turned out to be deliciously lightly battered fried shrimp with an avocado salsa and sprinkled with red cabbage. The accompanying fresh corn and rice were lovely. I threw in some of the salsa into the rice to spike it up a bit. My daughter's steak fajitas were equally impressive. Her steak was cooked med rare just the way she likes it and served with the same rice and corn. Our entire meal was great, the service outstanding and prices reasonable. Can't wait to return.

Not terrible, but definitely overpriced. I don't know what it is with Disney food or hotel / park food, but it's never really as good as it could be. No, I'm not expecting fine dining, but I also don't expect everything to be under-seasoned. I got the tacos and rice and thought "Eh. Not bad. The kids would like it." The service was good, though.

Dined here with my family tonight and had gotten used to the Disney style of customer service; solid in even the most crowded establishments. From the start, we were left waiting quite some time in spite of having reservations and the restaurant not being that crowded. We ordered quickly as we were dining with young children. This was prompt but the service did not deliver beyond that. Our orders (grown up orders) took a considerable time to arrive. Our sever did not check in on us again. What promoted the low rating was the server taking my glass of wine before I'd finished and while I was paying. It's the lowest of the low and not at all what I expect from service from Disney properties.

This is one of the more underrated restaurants at Disney--Maya Grill is actually quite good. Unfortunately, this restaurant won't get as much "traffic" as one of the theme park restaurants, as most people are going to the theme parks, and only a fraction of them will make a special trip to a resort to try one of the "table service" restaurants. There may be a little bit more traffic here for those without a meal plan, as Coronado Springs is a convention center destination and this is their sole sit-down restaurant. Ambiance: The ambiance of the resort is pretty cool, and the restaurant matches the rest of the resort, but there's nothing super special about the look and feel of the restaurant. (There's two pillars with fake flames at the top of them.) However, the best part of the ambiance is the entertainment. Speaking for dinner (which is when I ate here... I believe they serve other meals as well), there's a guitarist playing classic rock songs in the style of Spanish Guitar. This sounds corny, but is actually quite enjoyable. This really adds to the experience. Appetizer: We didn't order one, as the chips and salsa were plenty. (And, they were plenty good!) Main Course: This is more of a tex-mex joint than it is a "Mexican" joint (and I'm from Texas, so I consider myself to be well versed in the cuisine), so when we went, we had the chicken fajitas. They were so good, we cancelled one of our other reservations and came BACK for the chicken fajitas again for our last meal of the trip. I highly recommend them. Any time you can get a legit plate of fajitas outside of Texas, it's notable. The fajitas come with the relevant toppings, and little, teeny tortillas. (They bring 4 or 5 I think, per plate.) These are pretty good, and in a way, cute. They're not the greatest tortillas that you'll ever have, but they're pretty darn good. Desserts: The desserts are mostly of the format of "dessert shots," with two other special options: a coconut flan, or some kind of a panna cotta. The flan is better than the panna cotta in my opinion, which isn't bad. The panna cotta and the flan are both bigger (obviously) than the dessert shots. In retrospect, though, I think the peanut butter dessert shot that I had were better than all of them. But if you want a bigger dessert, I'd recommend the flan. (Apparently, they also have dulce de leche ice cream, but we weren't offered it. If the dulce de leche ice cream is half as good as the one at the San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot, it's the way to go. That stuff is the nectar of the Gods.) Service: Honestly, the service was somewhat lacking. Both servers that we had were on the slow side. I'm not sure if this was the kitchen, the server, or a little of both. (I expect the lattermost.) But, both times we ate there, we were chilling after a long day of walking, so the slower pace didn't bother us. If you're in a hurry, you may have an issue here. (The service is why I subtract one star.) Price & Dining Plan Considerations: The price of the dishes (when paying with cash and not the Disney dining plan) is on the high side of reasonable. If you have a dining plan that you've paid for, the average cost of a meal here (including entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink) is $26, the maximum cost is $40. (You're only going to get to $40 with the Filet Mignon.) If you keep the total cost of each meal over $35 (including the entree, dessert, and drink), you can make the dining plan make sense here. Consider your dishes in advance. (Disney's betting that you won't.) If you go with the fajitas like I did, this will put you on the "break even" cusp of the dining plan. (If you got the dining plan for free, it's probably not worth worrying about anyhow.) Overall: We'll probably be back the next trip that we stay at Coronado Springs, on nights where we're not going "pedal to the metal." I think it's quite under-rated, and certainly worth a look.

I had dinner here (red snapper). My waiter was nice but I didn't feel like I was at a Disney establishment because the staff was not particularly attentive. The place wasn't crowded but I was there for an hour and a half mostly waiting at my table for food items. The food was ok for the price however I don't feel compelled to return for another meal.

Location: Coronado Springs Resort & Convention Center, right next to Pepper Market Food we ordered: House guacamole and Grande Fajita platter The house guac was very smooth and creamy which was something we weren't used to. Has a little kick to it, but not too much that those with low heat tolerance would enjoy. The Grande Fajita platter served two, which was perfect portion for me and my fiance. It came with beef, shrimp, chicken, and sauteed peppers and onions all placed in the center of the table. Then on separate plates divided into two were the flour tortillas, guac, sour cream, rice, and etc. Overall, very tasty and well-seasoned Our server was Antonio, and he was fantastic. He served us the moment we sat down and checked on us time to time to see if we needed anything Overall, great experience, but not in a hurry to return again since there are lots of other places to try

I'm learning that while at Disney, the unsung hero's of dining are tucked away inconspicuously in their more moderate/unknown resorts. Maya Grill at Coronado is one such gem. Dimly lit, beautifully decorated, and tucked away in a corner of the main building offering some views of the lake, this restaurant offers a very relaxing, alternative to the hustle & bustle of it's Epcot alternatives, which are more energized by the very nature of their location and the sheer volume they must cater to. The wait staff at this little gem is on par. Our waiter knew his menu like the back of his hand and could answer any and every question we had about the food. Even steering some of us away from some of the higher priced items since he didn't think we would enjoy them as much. We started our meal with the house made guacamole which was phenomenal . It was obviously fresh and I have no idea what was in it, but there was none of it left when we finished. We also quickly devoured the queso, practically doing shots it was so good. To start we also enjoyed a pitcher of their heavy duty sangria, which has tequila in it. And boy does it have tequila. They do not skimp on their pour at all. Our entrees were pretty amazing. Among our table we had chicken fajitas, seasonal fish, steak and diablo shrimp. All were excellently prepared, steaming hot, juicy and flavorful. The spices used brought the dishes into a more authentic flavor I have enjoyed at friend's homes then the more generic 'tex mex' so common in American restaurants. The desert selection was a little disappointing. We were on the Disney Dining Plan, so it was included in our meal, but of the selection there were only 3 real desserts, everything else on the tray was more of a single serving shooter. While one of our party went for the shooter, and said it was delicious, it just did not seem like they were much to be considered "desserts." Overall, I would totally return to this place. Sure the prices are inflated, but thats the price you pay for dining at Disney. I consider the inflation the cost of going to a beautiful resort with free parking, where I can relax on my way to the meal, not be in bumper to bumper traffic, and maybe enjoy a beautiful post dinner stroll around a lake.

Went here with my husband, 2 children and my friend, her husband and child on Wed. March 18th. I ordered the shrimp tacos. It was very disappointing. They made a mistake by putting shredded iceberg lettuce on it instead of red cabbage. It totally brought down the whole meal. The tacos were small and rice portions were small for the price. I was still hungry after wards. My friends ordered the Parillada del mar for two. It was looked like it was for one. They were still hungry. I have no idea what my husband ordered. I think it was two appetizers for dinner. He didn't rave or complain. My kids just had ice cream for dinner. They ate PB sandwiches on the walk over. The food wasn't that great or filling for the price. We were so excited about going here. It was such a bummer!

Had the fajita platter when we went. $40 but could easily fill 3 people up. Chicken, Shrimp and beef with rice and beans. They also offer a flight of margaritas! I thought I was going to pop before I could get out the door!

We were staying at Coronado Springs and decided to try this table service restaurant when the Pepper Market offered few vegan dinner options. Our first visit was rather late in the evening so we were seated quickly despite not having reservations. The decor is nice as Disney loves to theme it's resorts but the separation of the dinning areas made us feel cut off. We needed to wait longer for our second visit earlier in the evening on a weekday. Thankfully, the live music throughout this visit livened up the space. Our servers were both very kind and present. The stars are higher because of them. Now onto the food! The house quacamol and chips were good just not the best any of us have had. The meals were well proportioned, but sadly not what one would hope considering their prices. However, the spring roll appetizer was delicious! Oh and try one of the decadent dessert "shots," you'll be glad you did.

I have eaten in this restaurant on 2 different occasions. It is at Coronado Springs resort so if you are at a conference or just staying at the resort it is very convenient. I do not recommend not having reservations if you're not willing to wait but we managed to be seated promptly without them both times. One visit I had really outstanding service, the second time the service was not as phenomenal but was still good. It is not what I think of as 'typical' Mexican cuisine but the stuff is fantastic. Complementary breads. They have some really tasty mixed drinks. Cost-wise a little on the high side-but not much of a surprise since it is on Disney property. We did not think it was too high to prevent a second trip. This is not inside a park so any one can eat at this restaurant.

Very good food. Very good service. Pricing a bit high but not surprising given the location. This is the "sit down" restaurant on property at the Coronado Springs Resort. Reservations are recommended, even on weeknights. Room service choices at this resort are limited. The main cafe/food court is a madhouse most of the time. Maya Grill is an oasis worth your time.

Upscale Tex Mex, service good, full bar, good quality, decent quantity for the price. Live music is very nice. We did not feel rushed here at all. which is unusual for a disney resturant.

I must say that I am just shocked at the lack of "magical" in the staff here. I'm here for a conference and when I heard that we would be staying at a Disney resort I thought I was lucky! I expected high end service with a Disney kind of smile. We did not get that here! Our waitress seemed less than eager to serve us-completely un-enthused! My friend asked what kind of soup they had--and I guess because he asked she just assumed that he wanted it....so when he didn't take it and asked that it be removed from the bill she was clearly annoyed. When we asked for salsa she said "I'll see if I can find some"....in a Mexican restaurant?? I guess I had this vision of what a Disney hotel and restaurant would entail....I was completely wrong!! On a positive note--the guacamole and corn bread were great!

Are there last night. This was a great meal. Wish there were some more choices on menu -very limited and heavy . You have 5 entree choices -as I recall. Everything is really great .loved the margaritas. Opted for margarita flight which I highly suggest if you are having trouble deciding between the flavors. The jalapeño margarita was interesting! A little too spicy for me though. We had red snapper Veracruz (excellent) and shredded pork with chilaquiles(chilaquiles extremely spicy) . No complaints about food. Service very good. Ambience is great-they had a guy playing guitar-really wonderful. It's on the expensive side. In retrospect I wish we had foregone the chips and guacamole because the bread basket was pretty great (jalapeño cornbread And some flatbread (more like cracker) with honey butter and chimichirri.

This is the "fancier" sit-down restaurant option at Coronado Springs resort. The atmosphere is nice, a little more dimly lit. The food is okay, traditional Mexican fare, but expensive for what it is. My dinner came with chips and red and green salsa, which was fine. I had a chicken Caesar salad and an order of guacamole. The Caesar salad was relatively straightforward. The guacamole was clearly not fresh but was satisfactory. I had the traditional margarita on the rocks. It was tasty, not the best margarita I've ever had but refreshing enough. My server Denise was very nice. Overall it was a three-star meal. Not awesome for $40.

Delicious food! We are major Disney people and love eating at the amazing restaurants out here. We came to Maya Grill because we are staying at Coronado Springs and it has now our favorite restaurant! (After trying most of the nice restaurants on property$ We shared the San Antonio platter for 2! So, so good! Wonderful atmosphere and amazing service from Gilbert! Super nice and personable! Made our experience wonderful! Thanks Gilbert and Maya Grill! Don't miss out on this one!

Slow waiter plus mediocre food at best. Beef chimi tasted like the beef was cooked in a can of tomato sauce. Kids Mac n cheese was bland. Beef enchiladas were uninspiring. Expensive for poor quality.

Maya Grill is the "table service" restaurant located in the Coronado Springs Resort. While the food was really good, the service left a lot to be desired. I visited Maya Grill one night without a reservation. Normally that would have meant a huge wait, but they were very accommodating. The first thing I noticed as we were lead to our table was the live musician. Oftentimes live music in restaurants can be distracting and overbearing, but this artist was set far enough away from the tables. The menu was similar to what you would find at any Mexican themed restaurant. I went with a combination fajita plate of chicken, shrimp and steak. The meats were perfectly prepared and quite flavorful. The steak was so tender that it melted in my mouth which did take some getting used to. I am still not sure how they made steak so tender, but I suspect it was cooked for a long time in some sort of liquid. If you prefer your steak to have more of a "give" to it, I'd stick with the chicken or shrimp. The one negative to this meal was a big one; the service was horrible. Despite the restaurant not being full, the food took a very long time to arrive, and the server was nearly non existent. Other than the initial taking of the order, I rarely saw her. It got to the point where I had to flag down another server to ask for a drink refill and then the same thing for the check. Other than the poor service, I enjoyed my meal at the Maya Grill. I don't know that it would be worth a trip if you're staying at another resort, but if you're at Coronado, I encourage you to try the Maya Grill.

Let's start honestly. I hate this resort for a number of reasons and I think it is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. However, this restaurant is its only shining star. I do enjoy eating here and think the food is very good quality. It the menu could do with a few more items and the service is hit or miss. If you are stuck in this hotel then this is the place to eat that is flavorful, half decent for you and won't break the bank.

This is what happens when there is no competition. This restaurant, in the even more awful Coronado Compound, is one of 3 from which you can choose if you're unfortunate enough to stay here. However, the food here seems to be the same as that served in the other two restaurants, though it is offered at a much higher price. Additionally, the service is atrocious. Call a cab and go elsewhere or consider fasting.

You need to have a reservation to eat here. But please don't make one. This place is cute and service was ok but the food is not good at all. I had the chimichangas and my bf had the enchiladas. No flavor whatsoever very bland you're better off going to Taco Bell.

A couple of my work associates and I ate at the Maya Grill at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort this past week, and we had a great experience. The restaurant is open for dinner, and reservations are recommended. The Grill is decorated like a high-end Spanish / Mexican steakhouse with a center courtyard fountain, and it offers a nice respite for a quiet dinner or business meeting. The legendary Disney customer service is on full display at the Maya Grill, and our server went out of his way to make sure that our meal was exceptional. We started with some delicious grilled calamari served with roasted nopales, tomato and chili lime vinaigrette. For my main course I ordered the salmon a la Plancha which was pan-seared and tequila-glazed salmon with boniato and chorizo mashed potatoes. We shared a pitcher of sangria with our meal, and followed up with some coconut flan to end the dinner. It was nice just to kick back and enjoy the unhurried atmosphere of the Maya Grill.

We came here because we wanted an easy dinner and were so impressed!! From the second you walked in, cast members were so friendly. The guitarist was a treasure! The steak was wonderful! Service was great! We walked out and felt like the cast members were brimming with pride and rightfully so!

I've eaten here for the past two nights while on a conference and both nights the food was superb. The family sitting at the table next to me this evening were also over the moon about their selections. They have many gluten free options and delicious dessert mousses. Service was good both nights, although it is more leisurely than most city folk are used to. I have to remind myself at a vacation resort. Even so, both nights I was in a hurry and both nights I got out in time to make my next meeting. They had live music last night that was fantastic. In addition to traditional Spanish influenced music, he also played a beautiful cover of a Journey song. I was disappointed I wasn't able to hear him again tonight (her was setting up as I left). Over all, very good experience.

Disney + Mexican food= good choice. My wife and i shared the Grande Fajita platter, and it was plenty of food for us. All of the meet was well seasoned, and the fresh tortillas were delicious. As with every Disney restaurant in this price bracket, the atmosphere was incredible. We were seated at a corner table in the back, which gave us a great view of the lake. Giving us a bag & plastics are with our to go box was a nice touch. My only concern was our server. He did a great job, but I think he was given too many tables to manage. There may have been a staff shortage, because he bussing tables as well as waiting tables. Other than that we really enjoyed our experience. We will definitely be back in the future.

This is the best restaurant at the Disney Coronado Springs. Great service, ok food. I ended up with a decent salad and an entire bowl of guacamole to myself (see that? Trying to eat a balanced diet!). Not bad, but not great.

My husband and I visited the Maya Grill after being too Downtown Disney'd out. We were seated by a pretty water feature that was so relaxing. Our waiter, Sal was a friendly and attentive server. We even talked about our children and he shared photos of his new baby. We didn't mind at all. He was a proud new Dad. In fact, it was endearing to us. Now let's discuss atmosphere. Quiet, dim lights and candles, water features, soft Latin inspired music. It's very adult oriented and very few children. Great for a romantic Disney date. The food was delicious. We were both surprised at our meals. My husbands steak fajita was jaw dropping. The steak just melted in your mouth. My chicken enchilada was great too. We both kept saying "This is so good" while we ate. You must try the dessert shots! It's just enough of a rich and decadent dessert in a double shot glass. A perfect close to your meal.

We're from Texas and I married a Mexican, so why we ate at a "Mexican" Disney restaurant I will never understand. Us Texans are SO much more in tune with Mexican cuisine than the way Disney glosses over the authentic. The food wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. But it wasn't Mexican. I would call it Modern South American Fusion. We got the $50 platter that was for 2 to share and the 5 shot sampler of the margaritas. They were all pretty tasty margaritas. It was fun to share and taste them all. There was a roasted corn relish of some sort on the platter that was delicious. My husband liked the chorizo that came on the platter. I really liked the flatbread and the cornbread that came out with oil and herbs before the meal. Overall, it was overpriced and not authentic, but it was still tasty and at least the portions were satisfying. This was my third trip to Disney World, and if I go back, I won't return to this restaurant.

The service here is slow, and the food leaves a lot to be desired. There are better restaurants at the other hotels. For the price you may, the taste is mediocre. Maya grill is definitely better than the marketplace, but I'd rather grab a quick salad than spend the dough on this food and service. Steak ordered medium came out rare, and when sent back, it came out burnt- way past well done. Server never came by to refill water or wine. This is definitely not the usual Disney dining experience. I'll definitely stick to Signature dining while at the resort

This is the ONLY time I have ever been dissatisfied at a Disney Resort. I ordered steak (medium-well), while my date ordered some sort of fish tacos. 1. They messed up my order and brought something completely different. The waiter apologized and took the food back. 2. The steak was obviously rushed and delivered to the table cooked rare, at best. I had to send it back again. 3. Finally, they got it right, after my date was nearly finished (I ate one of her tacos because I was starving). Then, at about 1am, my girlfriend is terribly sick from food poisoning. I felt ill myself, but not as bad. I don't know if this was just a big fluke or something else, but I wasn't happy.

For two nites we stayed here. Each time we went here we had to wait over an hour to sit. The odd thing is there were many empty tables. The hostess later told us, when asked, that she was holding tables for a convention!! However, they never came!!!! Food was just ok!

If you're a foodie leave the Disney Coronado Springs Resort as quickly as you can!!! Find a cab or car rental place and head to International Drive where the decent restaurants are located. They need a new Executive Chef to run the resort's food offerings. Maya gets two stars because my waiter was friendly, super-nice and saved the dining experience from total awfulness. Perhaps I can drink my next dinner and just live for a few days on lemon and lime peel :)

They really only get 3 stars for the margaritas. I had the jalapeno one, and it was spicy and refreshing. My mom and sister had more traditional ones, and they were really good too. Definitely over-priced, and does not come with chips and salsa. A woman at the table next to us told us not to order the food because it was "disgusting." Based on her strong opinion, we just ordered some chips and salsa which turned out to be a handful of chips on a plate with some pico and nacho sauce on the side. It was actually pretty good, but annoying that we had to pay for it.

My wife and I have been Disney foodies for quite some time. We've hit almost every restaurant in WDW and have purposefully avoided Maya Grill due to all the bad reviews we've read. Recently, my wife attended a conference at the Coronado Springs resort, and we decided we might as well give Maya Grill a try. We were pleasantly surprised. It seems other Yelpers either love or hate the atmosphere. We were in the Love It category. "Dim and cozy" is the best way to describe it. The coziness is brought about by the dining room being split into multiple smaller rooms so you only have about 20 other diners sharing your space. I started off with the black bean soup. I expected the same thing I've gotten at every other restaurant, Disney or otherwise: a bowl of canned black beans with a garnish such as rice or sour cream on top and always with a bit of a film from sitting too long on the hot plate. I was surprised when our server placed a bowl in front of me that contained only tortilla strips and queso fresco. She then proceeded to pour the black bean soup into my bowl from a separate pitcher. It was a nice touch. The soup itself was tasty and not too salty as I've come to expect at other places. For my entree, I had the Mahi-Mahi a la Veracruzana. This is basically the same dish they serve over at San Angel Inn, although I thought the Maya Grill version had a bit more of a kick to it, which I enjoyed. We ended with some sort of pear-filled pastry served with vanilla ice cream (I can't remember what it was named on the menu). My wife thought it was OK, but I thought it was a nice light end to our meal. The service throughout the meal was excellent. The only complaint I had was that our server constantly said "gracias" to us every time she came to our table. I couldn't figure out what we had done to garner such thanks from her. We decided to come back for breakfast on the day we left. I had the traditional breakfast. What can I say? You can't screw that dish up. It was as good as I've had at any restaurant of higher quality than Denny's (i.e. where the bacon isn't paper-thin). My wife had the eggs benedict and thought it was as good, if not better, than the same dish at Grand Lux Cafe. Every other day, my wife ate breakfast with her colleagues at the Pepper Market. She observed that the traditional breakfast at Maya Grill was only $1 more than at Pepper Market. Given that you are charged a 10% gratuity at Pepper Market, she was disappointed she hadn't eaten at Maya Grill every day. The food was prepared to order and she didn't have to sit in a loud food court setting, which she felt would have been worth a few extra dollars each day.

I dont understand why people dislike this place. 1st off, we are in America where they have to dumb down the food because if we offered real cuisine from other countries, Americans would hate it. Hence why most food at WDW is Americanized! As for the food, its good! I loved my queso and the pork tacos were flavorful. I do wish the atmosphere was more interesting, but it was not horrible. If you try anything, get the margarita flight... im in love with the Hibiscus and the Mango/Blueberry/Basil... they are delicious. Take this with a grain of salt... you will either like this place or not.

I came here for dinner after yet another conference night at the Coronado Resort. The wait here was 15-20 minutes long, despite the restaurant being half full. Turns out they didn't have enough wait staff and cooks to handle a full restaurant. Next time they should schedule their night shifts better so they can handle big conference groups. When we were finally seated, it took another 30 minutes before we ordered. The wait staff was nice, but the long wait wasn't. I ordered a Clasica Margarita, which was exactly what it was...a classic margarita, nothing more, nothing less (although it did have a grassy salty rim, which was rather unique and green). To match their green theme, I ended up ordering their steak salad. Again, nothing more, nothing less. For being a Disney resort I expected something more, but it filled my appetite nonetheless. The meat was cooked medium rare, with just the right amount of pink. The greens were plentiful along with onions, cheese, tomatoes and topped with a light balsamic vinaigrette. Overall an A-OK salad and an A-OK experience.

Didn't want to venture away from the resort for dinner, so I braved this place despite mixed reviews. I tried the margarita flight and the achiote grilled pork chop. The mango and hibiscus margaritas were my least favorite -- too sweet -- while I enjoyed the pineapple and jalapeno varieties. The pork chop was tender and the tomatillo salsa had great flavor. For dessert, I had to try the flan with coconut sauce and caramel, which was solid too. Overall the food was good, but not great, pretty much as expected. I waited about 15 minutes after being seated for anyone to check on me or take my order. The waiter seemed embarrassed when he finally came to the table, and he was very attentive for the rest of my time there.

Really love coming here lately. Get the combo fajita platter for two and enjoy the Mexican guitar player rocking out to the Eagles, Guns and Roses, and Floyd, with an occasional Mexican song.

After a long coast-to-coast red-eye, stumbled into the Maya Grill for breakfast and was sorely disappointed. Nothing on the menu for the health conscious, and the fruit plate with yogurt was shockingly disappointing. The melon tasted exactly the same as the 1 berry on the plate along with the banana. And a colleague commented the yogurt tasted like chalk. My omelet was obviously made from egg product and was the texture of rubber. From that day on, I believe we referred to this place as the Maya Crapper Doodle. It's really crappy.

Exactly what the two stars mean: meh, I've had better. Food is OK, service was not good, and prices, of course, are too high for only average food. Not a bad place to eat if you are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and don't want to travel off resort, but it is nothing special.

The dimly light restaurant has great ambiance...but of course, you can only expect the best from the experts in theming at Disney. Borderline romantic :) But the food...the steaks, perfectly seasons and cooked to perfection. VERY savory. And don't forget dessert...save room...the creme brulee is worth it!

UM eeeeeeeeew. This restaurant is overpriced and overrated. I came here on my first night at Disney. My friends and I had had a long day of travelling and wanted to have a nice, sit-down, relaxing dinner. I liked the decor of the place even though it is a little cheesy. Our waiter was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, so that's what the star is for. I love food. And I will try anything. But honestly, not a whole lot on the menu jumped out at me. I ordered a dish that turned out to be completely fried, so much so that you couldn't even really taste the actual fish and calamari. It all just tasted...fried. It was like food you'd get at a carnival, but it was almost $30!!! Definitely not worth it at all. I don't think I'd ever eat here again.

Loved this place! Loved the atmosphere--candle light, dusky and great views of the lake and the court yard if you sit in the right place! Nice, brisk service with a smile. Food was incredible! One of the best steaks and beef shoulders and creme brulee's I've ever had! We ate here quite a few times, while staying at the resort, and every dish we had was incredible! When we come back to Disney World, we are eating here again!!!

I ate breakfast here twice with my boyfriend, mainly because we were staying at the Coronado and it was easier than heading off to one of the parks. The decor is nice and I did enjoy the breakfast for the most part. It wasn't anything special compared to disney standards, but I didn't hate it so I won't bash on them. The only major problem I had with them is that the waitress lost my credit card and tried to blame it on me by saying I never gave it to here. They spent 20 minutes looking for it and only after I yelled at here and the manager over it. They eventually found it but that's besides the point.

The menu selections were the first things that confused me. If this is supposed to be Mexican why don't they put Mexian food on the menu. Steaks, lamb, ribs??? That's not Mexican. We didn't try any of the entree's because it was late and we had an early flight. The appetizers were alright, but nothing to write home about. Maya is okay for the average Disney crowd, but I expected much more from Walt and Mickey.

Maya is the fine dining restaurant at the Coronado Springs Disney resort. The alternative, if your staying here, is the Pepper Market which is a food court style restaurant with many different stations and one bill. Maya's decor is based on Mayan ruins, huge, two-story high structures that look like a temple... pretty typical Disney theme stuff like fountains and fake torches scattered around. The tables and chairs were not particularly comfortable.. really very average environment, a bit noisy with the hard surfaces and high ceilings. The menu included interesting offerings very nicely presented: duck, steak, chicken, soup, salad (with taco strips). I ate two dinners here and found the food to be tasty but not outstanding. Service was very uneven, I had some very good service and some really lacking in attention. The wine list was extensive and offered some interesting wines in every category. As you would expect there is a full childrens menu with some sort of Mexican style dishes. Personally, next time I would probably skip Maya and head toward Downtown Disney (4 miles away) where there is a wide variety of choices.

Sooooo cute! But then I am a push-over for anything Disney! The Maya is not the best place to eat but then I have never been anywhere in Disney where the food is fantastic. It is ok and it satisfies hunger so you can go out and have a fun time. The Kobe beef burger was good and so were the pork empanadas. I can't say I'll return to this specific restaurant but food really isn't the star anywhere in Disney World. Just go see Mickey!

Met up with cousins for dinner here. The restaurant was dimly lighted and had a contemporary decor. We started with the sampler which included shrimp cocktail, pork pulled empanada, and scallops. Our entree was a chicken breast with mole sauce and pork chop with rice pilaf and mushrooms. I thought that the mole sauce wasn't too spicy and complimented the chicken very well. It was a nice place to just relax and enjoy the food and service at Disney.

Walt Disney would turn in his grave if he would know that this restaurant is actually associated with the Disney name. As many reviewers have already stated: it is overpriced and underwhelming. My local taco bus is 1000 times better and most local Mexican food chains are several steps above this place. The food isn't particularily bad but just bland & boring but overpriced. Unfortunately, it is one of the two dining options at the Coronado Springs Resort and the other one (Peppers Market) is even worse.

Located at the beautiful Coronado Springs Hotel this overpriced Mexican Restaurant made me a little embarrassed to be part Mexican! I think it was the Mexican in me that had me craving some hopefully delicious Mexican Food, but alas instead I was "treated" to a palatial ass whipping! I was curious and unfortunately this time I was the windshield instead of the fly! They certainly make a valiant effort here, but unfortunately just fail on actual execution. Service was ok... it was friendly, but I think it's because when you work for Disney it is kind of an expectation. The restaurant has an open air seating area making seating seem cold, uninviting, and seem more like a Cafeteria environment. It's nice and clean... it just doesn't come off as inviting at all. If you're staying here and don't want to leave then I highly recommend ordering one of those delicious deep dish pizzas from Giordano's and having it delivered to your room! allears.net/menu/menu_mg…

We were looking at getting something exciting and different, so we got the Fiesta Fiesta de Coronado - Serves 2 people. It consists of mixed grills, Grilled Sirloin Steak with chimichurri, Chicken al Pastor with esquites, and Seared Chorizo de Cantimpalitos with roasted vegetables $51. The food was amazing, very tasteful! The menu prices are on the slight pricey side but its not overwhelming ridiculous like some resorts, where they take advantage of the guests. Service was extremely wonderful and friendly and the atmosphere very impressive.

Very mixed feelings... We were greeted by a very rude female greeter... Our server was very courteous and went above and beyond to fill our expectations! Management was bickering with front desk management in the middle of the restaurant. As for the food my wife and I shared the fajitas for 2 very huge portion of mostly meat, all fantastic. The other two people in the party had a salads which were "eh" but that's to be expected at a Mexican restaurant.

Horrible, overly expensive food. You would think Disney would do better in the one sit down restaurant at the resort. The Caesar salad lettuce was totally wilted and there was so much dressing on it , I couldn't eat it. The spring rolls were tasteless , deep fried and greasy so I couldn't eat those either. My friend left her soup as tasteless. Seriously!

I don't understand why people are hating on this place at all. As another person already stated, foreign cuisine has to be dumbed down or people complain and won't eat it. Even with working with that, they managed to make really good food. My husband and I had shrimp tacos, steak tacos, chicken tacos, chimichangas, guacamole, and the corn souffle. Everything but the guacamole (which I am SUPER picky about in the first place) was incredible. Especially the steak tacos. Those bad boys were awesome. Yes, the place is expensive, but if we hadn't had the dining plan already and had actually budgeted for Disney, I would still splurge on it. Not to mention the staff (our server was named Keith) is very, very nice and goes above and beyond to get you whatever you'd like.

Stayed at Coronado resort for a week for a conference and for convenience reasons ate at the Maya Grill several times. I would say that this is a Latin-themed (moreso in decor than food) restaurant with food that is more Salty Taco Bell than Sumptuous Goods. The chicken Enchiladas were okay but definitely not worth the $18 I paid for them. (I mean it really wouldn't kill them to crack open a can of Mole or Tomatillos and dump it over the enchiladas?). The following night I ordered the tortilla soup, which was literally (and by literally, I mean figuratively) a bowl full of sodium and water. From then on out, I ordered the $8 garden salad (I'm low demand for this menu item makes it a relatively affordable option). It's actually surprisingly large and tasty. My choice from then on.

The waiter took the time to explain the dishes and chit chat with us. He was very friendly and personable, and made it a fun experience. Overall, the service was good. The food was decent. There were some good dishes, and some were just ok. The highlights for me were the steak, and the steak tacos. Very delicious. I was excited to try the guacamole, but it was just ok. The fried ice cream seemed like it would be good too, but it wasn't what I expected. The coconut leche flan, however, was very good. If I ever make it to Disney World again and stayed at the Coronado Springs, I would definitely eat here again.

For two nites we stayed here. Each time we went here we had to wait over an hour to sit. The odd thing is there were many empty tables. The hostess later told us, when asked, that she was holding tables for a convention!! However, they never came!!!! Food was just ok!

Delicious food! We are major Disney people and love eating at the amazing restaurants out here. We came to Maya Grill because we are staying at Coronado Springs and it has now our favorite restaurant! Made our experience wonderful! Thanks Gilbert and Maya Grill! Don't miss out on this one!

  • Tania L.

  • Great M.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
